Mission Statement
The Kentucky Foothills Therapeutic Horsemanship Center, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals with physical, emotional and developmental disabilities by facilitating the exploration of the age-old relationship between horse and human. Our mission is to provide a safe, secure environment in which individuals can benefit from experiencing, riding and driving horses in a manner which acknowledges the needs and abilities of each and every rider.
Description
KFTHC offers programming for adults and children. Through KFTHC's programming participants learn saftey around horses, mutual respect between horse and human, and leadership.
Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) is an umbrella term for the programs and services offered at KFTHC. These activities inclue both mounted (Therapeutic Riding) and ground (Therapeutic Horsemanship) acitivities. Other catergories include Recreation and Leisure Activities, Sport Activities, Equine Assisted Personal Development, and Equien Assisted Learning activites.
