Rachel’s Writers is a creative writing and mentoring organization that promotes creativity, critical thinking, and leadership skills to empower adolescents between the ages of 13 and 19.
Through one-on-one mentoring and monthly creative writing workshops, youth are given techniques, insights and hot topics for great writing in all genres from professional men and women writers. Workshops and mentoring sessions explore poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, songwriting, journalism, screenwriting, playwriting, persuasive writing, journal writing, editing and more. Our goal is to give adolescents in our community the means to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential. Through collaborative programming with schools and other community-based organizations, Rachel’s Writers provides educational, social, and mentoring opportunities to enhance the academic performance, community connections, and career options of the youth.
