Mission Statement
VARHA provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults with disabilities, "at risk" youth, and families in crisis in Venango County and surrounding areas of northwestern Pennsylvania.
Description
The Venango Area Riding for the Handicapped Association has been providing therapeutic horseback riding lessons to children, adolescents, and adults with mental and physical disabiliites in Venango county and surrounding areas for over 35 years!
Some disabilities that VARHA serves include: Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Paralysis, Blindness, Deafness, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsay, Intellectual Disabilities, Down Sydrome, Autism Spectrum, ADD/ADHD, and many more!
Benefits of therapeutic horseback riding include emotional, social, psychological, and physical.
VARHA serves over 200 riders per year and our programs continue to expand- which means we need help!
