Mission Statement

We generate, share, and apply scientific knowledge vital to the conservation of animals, plants, and habitats worldwide. We help shape the vision of San Diego Zoo Global and lead in fulfilling its conservation mission.

Description

At the Institute for Conservation Research, we are dedicated to saving plant and animal species worldwide. Our efforts are focused in eight strategic areas: Conservation Genetics, Reproductive Sciences, Population Sustanability, Recovery Ecology, Disease Investigations, Plant Conservation, Community Engagement and Global Partnerships. The Institute is located at the Beckman Center next to the Safari Park in Escondido.
