Description
Equi-Librium Therapy Center’s (ETC) formally Therapeutic Riding of the Ozarks, has been providing Equine Assisted Therapy Activities and Therapies to individuals with physical and mental disabilities for 20 years in Southwest Missouri. This therapy combines state licensed physical therapists, nationally certified therapeutic riding instructors, and specially trained therapy horses that are used as a therapeutic tool to produce life-changing positive patient outcomes. ETC is a Premier Accredited Center through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH), a member of both the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA) and the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). ETC offers a variety of services: including Therapeutic Riding, Hippotherapy, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning. This type of therapy is used to treat a variety of diagnoses and disabilities including cerebral palsy, down syndrome, autism, Fragile X, muscular dystrophy, spastic displagia, blindness, developmental delays, post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, speech delay, emotional stress, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, profound deafness, Asperger’s syndrome, Rett Syndrome, Angelman syndrome and dopa-responsive dystonia. Patients range in ages from two years old being the youngest, up through adulthood.
