Mission Statement

The Des Plaines Friends of the Parks' mission is to: Promote parks, recreational and cultural activities, and a healthier lifestyle for the citizens of Des Plaines by providing and administering scholarships for residents to participate in a variety of Park District activities.

Description

As a 501 (c)(3) non-profit we:

  • Organize events to raise funds for scholarships to support the youth of the Des Plaines Park District
  • Support the efforts of the Des Plaines Park District as volunteers at their events
  • Stimulate and further public interest in parks and recreation, and the preservation of park and recreational resources
  • Educate the citizens of Des Plaines Park District upon the value of quality parks and recreational/conservative services
