Mission Statement

World Water Relief provides safe, filtered water and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) education to the students and communities at each of our projects in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Description

World Water Relief serves the southwestern region of the Dominican Republic, near the city of Barahona, and the central and southern areas of Haiti (most projects are near Mirebalais). These areas are often overlooked or ignored by governments due to their distance from major cities or marginalized because of their demographics. Many of the residents of the bateys in the Dominican Republic are Haitian migrant laborers and do not have Dominican citizenship.

We now have 11 projects in Haiti and 14 in the Dominican Republic. We serve more than 14,000 children and 500 staff members who work at these schools. In addition, whenever possible community members surrounding our school project sites also have access to our water systems, which means that thousands more can use our safe, clean water.
