Description

Dane County Parks is charged with protecting and interpreting natural resources, educating the public and providing recreational and volunteer opportunities. Volunteers extend and enrich staff's work. We have 27 parks and 9 resource protection areas throughout the county, including 5 campgrounds and several historic sites. Park activities include hiking, biking, swimming, boating, ice fishing, cross country skiing and more. We have five off-leash dog exercise areas. The Lussier Family Heritage Center, a year-round, multi-use facility will open in 2001. The volunteer program and the naturalist program will be based there.
