Description
The BAyshore Center at Bivalve (formerly Bayshore Discovery Project) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization that owns and operates New Jersey's Official Tall Ship, the historic oyster schooner AJ MEERWALD.
BCB develops and carries out education programs onboard the MEERWALD as well as in shorebased venues in southern New Jersey. BCB operates the Delaware Bay Museum & Folklife Center, the Oyster Cracker Cafe, an art gallery, gift shop and boat shop at the Bayshore Center, housed in the historic oyster shipping sheds that were the heart of South Jersey's booming oyster industry in the late 1800's through mid 1900's.
The AJ MEERWALD sails to ports throughout the region (NJ, PA, DE, NY, CT, VA) each season (April through October). The Bayshore Center at Bivalve is member-supported. More than 50,000 people are served by BDP's programs each year.
