HELP END HOMELESSNESS HC

Description

HEHHC, a 501c3 non-profit organization, was established to meet the need of homeless families in Howard County, Maryland whose income is too low to qualify them for other safety-net services. We are providing permanent - not transitional - affordable housing in attempt to put a dent in homelessness. Central to our purpose is creating a model for other civic groups oir faith communities to replicate, follow, and improve upon to create even more housing opportunities. We are following the "Housing First" model advocated by federal, state, and county governements. This model prioritizes housing stability as the first step to addressing homelessness. We currently have two properties and will soon begin fundraising for our third home.

Our volunteer need at this immediate time is for new members of our all-volunteer Board of Directors. Ours is a very grassroots, volunteer-led initiative with no staff. Please visit the website at www.HEHHCinc.org for further information.
