The mission of the Anjelica Hadsell Memorial Scholarship foundation is to assist in funding a Norview student's college education. The recipient of the scholarship will encapsulate qualities that are characteristic of eclectic well roundedness. It is also our mission to host fundraising events that bring the community together and send a positive message.
Anjelica is a 2014 graduate of Norview High School. She was attending Longwood University as a freshman when her life was tragically taken at the age of 18. She went missing on March 2, 2015 and her remains were found 38 days later on April 9. The outpouring of community support during that timeframe was overwhelmingly amazing. Anjelica’s friends, family and I decided to create this memorial scholarship as a way to honor her, keep her memory alive and to be able to give back to the community. Anjelica touched so many lives and was a leader both on and off the field. From her days of playing teeball to playing varsity sports for four years at Norview to club softball and field hockey at Longwood, she loved to play sports. She loved the competition and the relationships that were created. Anjelica liked to give back to the community and do things for others. She volunteered her time with various organizations and participated in the Polar Plunge raising money for Special Olympics. She was a natural leader and it is fitting that this scholarship be named in her honor. This scholarship will help a deserving Norview athlete attend the college of their choosing.
