Bastrop County Sheriff's Office VAT is dedicated to providing assistance, information and support to victims and family survivors of violent crime; with compassion and respect.
The Bastrop County Sheriff's Office, Victim Assistant Team (VAT) provides information and support services to victims of crime and their families. Our advocates provide on- scene crisis intervention services, victim rights' information and referral services to those affected by violent crime. Advocates are also available for Crime Victims Compensation assistance and VINE (Victim Information & Notification Everyday)registration assistance. Our division is a liaison between the victim (or victim's family) and law enforcement.
Public Awareness Presentations are availabe to area community groups. Topics include; victim assistance, trauma support, Crime Victims Compensation and VINE information.
