The Raptor Center - College of Veterinary Medicine

The Raptor Center was officially established in 1974 within the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota, by Dr. Gary Duke and Dr. Pat Redig. It is internationally renowned for pioneering and perfecting surgical and anaesthetic techniques in treating raptors. During the past 25 years, The Raptor Center has treated more than 9,500 raptors expanding its caseload from 120 birds a year to more than 700. The Raptor Center has won national acclaim for its conservation, education, restoration, medical treatment, and studies of endangered species such as the falcon, bald eagle, osprey and owls.
