Mission Statement
Another Way Out, Inc. (AWO) is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to empower at-risk youth in the Atlanta metropolitan area with the skills necessary to pursue higher education and create strong communities. Through a variety of youth empowerment programs, educational experiences, mentoring and intervention-based activities, AWO operates year-round throughout Fulton and surrounding counties.
Description
Founded in 1992, AWO focuses on creating opportunities for youth to broaden their perceptions of what life has to offer, motivating them to stay in school, resist negative peer pressure, and avoid teen parenthood, drugs, violence, and other risky behaviors. In its 25-year history, AWO has impacted thousands of youth and their families through programs and events. The primary goal has been and continues to be for our youth to become productive, self-sustaining, responsible members of society, achieving their full potential to have a successful adult life.
