Mission Statement

Our primary mission is to promote and assist in the spaying/neutering and management of feral and community cats. We also assist low income families with their companion animals. Although, our goal is to find kind, loving homes for all of the animals in our care, we also provide long term space for animals that are deemed unadoptable and find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons. Our philosophy here is that: Not everyone can have a home but everyone can have a life.

Description

We are a 501c3 cat rescue/sanctuary in Somerset County, Maine. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers currently provides shelter to 150 plus resident cats. We work in local communities on TNR (Trap,Neuter,Return) projects for both community cat colonies as well as feral cat colonies. Spirits Place also promotes education on animal welfare in local schools and the communities we serve. We also work with disabled people in our communities to create pottery as a way to fundraise for our mission.
