Provide telephone conversations with homebound Veterans! - Virtual opportunity, can be done from home Do you like to check in on your neighbors? Do you like to speak on the phone? Want to help Veterans? With COVID numbers still restricting many offices, stores, and buildings, many of our veterans are limited in where they can travel. This has created many veterans that feel cut off from their community. Soldiers’ Angels is looking for volunteers to help ensure that no service member feels unloved. We are looking for volunteers to join our team! The Compassionate Care Corps is a group of volunteers that reach out to homebound veterans remotely to check on them while providing a level of company. The goal is to provide telephone conversation with homebound Veterans seeking connection. This important volunteer opportunity provides support and communication to the Veteran while making sure that any major issues are reported to the veteran’s primary care team. We are looking for volunteers that will speak to veterans/caregivers for a mutually agreed upon time frame (generally 20 minutes per phone call) on a regular basis to convey support and concerns. You must have good people skills and excellent communication/listening skills while being emotionally mature, positive, and service-oriented. This opportunity would be remote and require the volunteer to work independently Volunteer agrees not to meet with the Veteran in person in their home or in the community. Are you ready to represent an amazing nonprofit through great works at your local VA Hospital?
