The Community Activities Coordinator is a key volunteer who is willing to be responsible for organizing events in the community for Soldiers’ Angels to support veterans and service members. This includes regularly scheduled events, as well as special events, as approved by the Community Representative. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for organizing events for Soldiers’ Angels in support of the community as well as oversight of Angels’ participation in community events. Events may include but are not limited to 5k runs, holiday parties, luncheons/dinners for service members or veterans, attendance at family day events, etc. Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work events on occasional evenings and weekends. Assist Community Representative and the Site Coordinator to solicit donors to sponsor events, as well as coordinate with the community representatives. Oversight of all Community Activities Volunteers. Responsible for making sure that all community activity and event volunteers are aware of policies and procedures to ensure a consistent quality of service, and to set clear expectations of each volunteer. Maintain positive Social Media presence during events to include posting pictures and captions as they happen. Military and Veterans Food Distribution (MVFD) Co-Coordinator Looking to make a difference in the lives of veterans and active military members? Soldiers' Angels is seeking a dedicated MVFD Co-Coordinator volunteer to assist in managing monthly Military and Veterans Food Distributions at a designated site. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership, communication, and event planning skills to help ensure each distribution is well-organized and impactful. Key Responsibilities: - Support the MVFD Coordinator in planning and executing monthly food distributions. - Update registration, waitlists, and marketing materials using tools like Formstack and Canva. - Assist with donor outreach and distribution of event details to community partners. - Maintain a positive social media presence, sharing live updates during events. - Document event attendance and prepare materials for upcoming distributions. The Community Deputy Representative will be knowledgeable about Soldiers’ Angels programs and policies and will assist the Community Representative with providing Soldiers’ Angels program support to service members, veterans, caregivers, and their families. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Community Representative in the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers. Assist planning special events and coordinating the distribution of goods and services. Outreach within the local community. Coordinate delivery of Soldiers’ Angels programs with the CDCE committee and appropriate VA staff. Track Soldiers’ Angels programs, volunteer opportunities, and donations. Assist tracking national campaigns (donations Girl Scout Cookies etc.), to include picture requirement. Attend weekly meetings with staff manager.
