Mission Statement

We of St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland, a member of Trinity Health System, are committed to the healing ministry with in the Roman Catholic tradition. Our mission is to promote the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of the people we serve, not only by healing those in need, but also by focusing on prevention. Through a continuum of care we demonstrate our reverence for life and preserve dignity in death. We express love, compassion, justice, and advocate for diversity, health and healing in our communites and environment. Our commuinity health care system reflects the spirit of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, in its deliberate service to the disadvantaged and poor.
