Mission Statement
NorthStar's mission is to empower people in mental health recovery to thrive personally, in the community, and in the workplace.
Description
NorthStar Clubhouse is a free, supportive community built upon the belief that all members can recover from the effects of mental illness and lead satisfying and fulfilling lives.
The International Clubhouse model is evidenced-based for helping those living with mental illness recover and be well. We are not a clinical model.
We have many activities our members participate in: Learning and cooking healthy meals at NorthStar; Employment support; administrative tasks; social skills and social time.
Currently, NorthStar is experiencing some financial strain. Staff (1 1/2 people) and members are working very hard to raise money for our program.
We are seeking compassionate volunteers to assist us in fundraising and other clubhouse tasks. Some examples are making phone calls to secure auction items, spreading the word about NorthStar, and various general activities.
People living with mental health challenges, or people who have a family member or friend with mental health challenges, are preferred, but also please contact us if that doesn't apply to you! Thank you for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you.
