Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of the Everson Museum of Art is to preserve, exhibit, interpret, and enhance its collections of historical and contemporary American visual arts and its international ceramic collection. The Museum seeks to inspire, educate and enrich all people, and integrate art into their lives through direct encounters with its own collections and temporary exhibitions.
Founded in 1897, the Everson Museum of Art is central New York's premier cultural and visual arts organization, and is in many respects a cultural icon. Designed by world-renowned architect I.M. Pei, the Everson is often referred to as "a work of art to house art."
The Museum's present quarters, which opened in 1968, was Pei's first museum and launched his career as an internationally acclaimed museum architect. The Everson is well regarded internationally, due in large part to the caliber of the Syracuse China Center for American Ceramics and being the first museum to establish a video arts collection. Exhibitions and programs are specifically designed to illuminate and explore the eclectic breadth of American Art across time, artistic mediums, and cultural influences that shape the artistic expressions of our nation.
A wide variety of volunteer opportunities are available; please contact the Everson for more information.
