Mission Statement

Camp Sunrise, through the Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Department, is a program for children who have or have had cancer. By combining an exciting camp experience with professional medical support, campers are given the following opportunities: to establish strong peer relationships with others who have experienced cancer, to gain independence for the regimen of cancer treatment, and to enhance self-confidence by trying new activities offered at camp. SunSibs, sponsored through Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology Department, will provide a safe, secure, and fun weekend camp experience for siblings of children and young adults who have been diagnosed with cancer. The program offers each participant the opportunity to experience their own uniqueness to be with other children who have experienced the difficult emotions that accompany having a sibling with cancer.
