Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Part of the mission of the Cinefamily is bringing people together, and one of the ways we do that is through our volunteer program. Every single show is staffed by enthusiastic and devoted volunteers -- and their involvement doesn't end with the show. Cinefamily volunteers go on field trips together, share late-night screenings, and form strong bonds through collaborating in making the best repertory programming in the country come to life. Not to mention, completing 4 shifts earns you a one-month membership pass. We need help weekdays, weeknights, and weekends. You can also sign up to be on-call for shifts that need to be filled that day, or special projects (and some of our projects are pretty darn special -- marinating beef hearts for Les Blank, building a black-light art gallery for Obayashi, picking panelists up from the airport, constructing a labyrinth for Labyrinth, etc.)
The Cinefamily is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of movie lovers devoted to finding and presenting interesting and unusual programs of exceptional, distinctive, weird and wonderful films.
The Cinefamily's mission is to reinvigorate film culture by fostering a spirit of community and a sense of discovery.
Like campfires, sporting events and church services, we believe that movies work best as social experiences. They are more meaningful, funnier and scarier when shared with others.
The Cinefamily was founded in 2007 by brothers Dan and Sammy Harkham and Hadrian Belove, founder of Cinefile Video. We currently average 14 shows per week, many of which are enhanced with special guests, live music, dance parties, potlucks and other kinds of social fun. Over 65,000 patrons visit the Cinefamily annually.
