Community Hospice Our mission is to honor life by providing Peace, Hope and Compassion to those we serve. Teen Volunteer Program Community Hospice of Columbiana County is currently seeking friendly, talented youth to participate in our Teen Volunteer Team. Positions and tasks that fall under our Teen Volunteer umbrella include: Project Sunshine - A one-time project that provides a small supportive gift or message to our patients and families. This project is perfect for any age, can be completed by formal or informal groups, or as an individual Community Outreach- Teens can join us as we participate in community events, present educational topics to groups, and visit nursing homes and community centers to provide activities and support Special Projects- Youth can join us as we complete special projects to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and other holiday support and celebrations for our community and patients Fundraising - Runners, ushers, servers, or just people with an upbeat and positive attitude are always needed on our Fundraising Committee and for day-of support Direct Patient Care- Teen Volunteers can join me in making friendly, supportive visits to our patients and families and patients Choose Your Own Adventure- Your teen has talents and ideas beyond those that we mentioned. We’d love to hear their out of the box ideas! We never know when and idea can start a whole new adventure Community Hospice Teen Volunteers must have parental permission and a letter of recommendation from their Guidance Counselor before they attend a quick training session. Teen Volunteers are always paired with a Community Hospice Staff member while they are completing their volunteer tasks. Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.

Community Hospice Our mission is to honor life by providing Peace, Hope and Compassion to those we serve. Friendly Visitors The Columbiana County Team of Community Hospice is currently searching for friendly, outgoing people interested in providing social and emotional support to our patients and their families by visiting them in their Columbiana County homes. Patient Support Volunteers provide non-medical, social and emotional support services to our hospice patients. This position is perfect for people who enjoy playing cards, chatting, knitting, coloring, singing, laughing, sharing a cup of tea, and/or meeting new people. Volunteers set their area of service and availability and receive training and 24 hour support from Community Hospice Staff. Our service area includes Tuscarawas, Stark, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Holmes and surrounding counties. Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.

Make a Joyful Noise The Columbiana County Team of Community Hospice is searching for musicians who wish to bring their love of song to our hospice patients and families. As we know, music is the great communicator able to break down barriers and connect people no matter where they’re at. Music invokes some of our fondest memories, touches our deepest emotions, and can bring light to even the darkest days. From simply singing with a patient and their family members, to one-on-one acoustic performances, to larger group events there are so many ways musicians can make a meaningful connection their talents! Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.

We are searching for crafters, artists, tailors, and seamstresses to help make a difference in our community. Your commitment can be a one-time project or ongoing outreach and is perfect for individuals or groups. Possible project ideas include.... · Fleece no-sew blankets · Memory bears, pillows, or ornaments · Quilts honoring our Veterans · Walker or hospital bed bags · Encouraging Signs and Posters · Handmade cards Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of our hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey. Volunteers do not need to live in the Columbiana County area but must be able to deliver their donations to the Salem office.

Veterans Volunteer Program Community Hospice is a proud participant in the We Honor Veterans program. This is a national awareness program that focuses on strengthening partnerships and networking with other Veteran organizations to enhance veterans and their families' care and availability of services. Our goal is to recognize our Veterans' unique needs and challenges and guide them with a respectful inquiry, compassionate listening, and grateful acknowledgment leading to a more peaceful end-of-life journey. Our We Honor Veterans Team connects Veteran Volunteers with patient who also served in the military. Veterans can visit with fellow servicemen and women one-on-one, assist in honoring our through Veteran’s Pinning Ceremonies, or collect stories to be added to our Military Memoir Book. Donations such as patriotic quilts and blankets, plaques or signs, and other military themed items are also greatly appreciated and will be delivered to our Veterans to let them know how much we appreciate their service. Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.
