Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Description

Best Buddies in the Capital Region has just launched an adult friendship program called Citizens. In Citizens, adults in the community without disabilties are paired in one-to-one friendships with adults in the community that have disabilities. Individuals must be over the age of 18 to participate. The commitment includes maintaining weekly contact with a buddy and meeting with a buddy twice a month.
