Description
Big Hole is one of the battles that occurred between the Nez Perce and the U.S. Army during the summer of 1877. This National Park Service site protects the site of the battle, shares the events that led up to the Nez Perce flight, the details of the Battle of the Big Hole, and the story of the Nez Perce once the conflict drew to a close, and also encourages visitors to apply lessons learned from this conflict to current events.
