The mission of PeaceJam is to inspire a new generation of peacemakers who will transform themselves, their local communities and the world.

Description

The PeaceJam Foundation is an international education organization headquartered in Arvada, Colorado. With nearly 20 years of experience around the world, its mission is to create young leaders committed to positive change in themselves, their communities, and the world through the inspiration of 13 Nobel Peace Laureates, including: The Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Rigoberta Menchú Tum, President Oscar Arias, Aung San Suu Kyi, Jody Williams, Máiread Corrigan Maguire, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Shirin Ebadi, President José Ramos-Horta, Betty Williams, Sir Joseph Rotblat, and Leymah Gbowee. PeaceJam achieves this mission through award-winning K-12 curricula that teach youth about the lives and work of the Laureates and programs that engage youth in service-learning projects in their own communities. PeaceJam is most known for its annual Leadership Conferences that bring Laureates and youth together for two days to foster inspiration and collaboration between change-makers.
