The Organization: Our program brings together residents of Minnesota & North Dakota with diverse backgrounds.
Mile in My Shoes aims to:
Focus on health and well-being - physical, mental, and emotional
Increase self-esteem and leadership skills in all members
Promote understanding and friendship between people from diverse backgrounds
Change the way the Twin Cities community views people experiencing homelessness and addiction
Mile in My Shoes meets 2-3 times each week for group runs at homeless shelters and reentry centers for people exiting incarceration. The teams train together for goal races as well as participate in regular social events.
