The Organization: Our program brings together residents of Minneapolis with diverse backgrounds.
Mile in My Shoes aims to:
Focus on health and well-being - physical, mental, and emotional
Increase self-esteem and leadership skills in all members
Promote understanding and friendship between people from diverse backgrounds
Change the way the Twin Cities community views people experiencing homelessness and addiction
Mile in My Shoes meets 2-3 times each week for group runs at homeless shelters/transition programs. The teams train together for a goal race as well as participate in occasional social events.
