Mission Statement

Eco Texas is a nonprofit organization that encourages friends and neighbors to take action to reduce the threat of invasive species to our community. Making a difference is easy as there are many ways to help out. Join us in our attempts to lessen the threat invasive species pose to our precious ecosystems.

Description

EcoTexas, along with enthusiastic volunteers from the community, most of them being teenagers, visits local parks a few times a month on Saturday mornings. Using a variety of tools, the volunteers physically remove invasive plant species from the area in order to create a more sustainable environment for native plants. By eliminating the invasive plants, EcoTexas is working to reduce the environmental, economic, and public health threats posed by them, in addition to raising awareness and improving the Austin community.
