Mission Statement

" The Global Deeds Foundation supports underprivileged student-volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills though their community involvement and who plan to use their education for the betterment of society. Our goal is to provide a mentoring program, recognitions, networking opportunities and a scholarship fund to qualifying student-volunteers around the world as our way of promoting global change."

Description

Recent Accomplishments:

Our organization launched its first pilot called Hope-In-A-Box, which took place in Boston and in the Dominican Republic. This pilot project was in support of hurricane Noel victims in Dominican Republic, and it was
successfully supported by several members within local institutions, such as Harvard University, Northeastern University, as well as community members and political figures within the Dominican government. This particular pilot now runs every year in that country in collaboration with D.O.N.A. (Dominicanos Ofreciendo Nuestra Ayuda), and hundreds of individuals from impoverished communities benefit from the goods that are gathered in these boxes of hope.

A new collaboration was just recently established between our organization and the Harvard Graduate Volunteer Consulting Group. Other collaborations with several nonprofit organizations are currently developing.

The Global Deeds Foundation was also nominated for the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network Collaboration Award on June 8th, 2009, a ceremony which
took place at the Massachusetts State House.

With the help of in-kind donations, we opened the doors of our new office located at 485 Massachusetts Ave, 3RD Floor, in Cambridge, MA.
