Mission Statement

Affiliated International Ministries or AIM was founded by a group of Christian laypeople who discovered that the best way to love God is by loving your neighbors. For these people, loving your neighbors is not merely an intangible feeling. Instead, loving your neighbors involves tangible expressions of love through the sharing of time and the providing of support. Given this belief, AIM has worked to identify opportunities through which laypeople can live their faith by loving their neighbors. Some of these opportunities involve a commitment to share time, while others involve a commitment to share resources. In the end, our goal is to build authentic friendships and community with our neighbors, always mindful of the fact that we are called "to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God."

Description

Our Story is that of the Lakota Light, which contains chapters steeped with the cultural traditions of leaders such as Chiefs Red Cloud, Black Elk, and Crazy Horse. This is how one trip to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota forever changed Ken and Charlotte Wienski’s perspective of poverty, health disparity, substandard living conditions and the lack of hope for Native Americans that exist within the United States itself on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
