We challenge each woman in Kern County to be aware of their breast health, and to promote support for those affected by breast cancer. We educate the general public about breast health. We provide mammograms for women who are currently uninsured or underinsured by a private health plan, and are under the age of 40. Needle biopsies are underwritten for women under the age of 40 who have suspicious mass and are in need of a conclusive diagnosis. We also have a nursing program scholarship where students from our local university and junior college can apply for a scholarship. We have a library with internet access. We have several reference books and other materials for up to date research through our internet access. Our Missing Link Boutique which is a donation based boutique that empowers women with hair loss to regain self-respect and strength to deal with their current situation. Our Breast Cancer Support Group offers, encouragement, support, friendship, and information on resources throughout our community. We also have health breast seminars which help educate women on mammography and breast self-examination.
