Community Health Care is a non-profit health center in the south sound that provides family practice medical services to low income and uninsured patients. Due to State budget cuts, we are looking for creative ways to increase our patient population and educate managed care patients on the services that we provide. We are looking to find compassionate people who have a passion for helping people gain access to the quality healthcare that they deserve.

OVERVIEW:
Under immediate supervision of the Office Manager/Coordinator, the Managed Care Volunteer initiates calls to managed care patients to schedule clinical appointments as requested on a completely volunteer basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Calls existing CHC managed care patients at home.
2. Schedules managed care patients for clinical appointments.
3. Reviews provider schedules.
4. Uses standard office equipment, e.g. telephone, computer, etc.
5. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to perform in a professional manner. Ability to alphabetize and organize. Ability to communicate effectively and write legibly. Ability to follow direction. Ability to be an effective team member.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical terminology. Front desk experience. Bilingual capacity in Spanish. Cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency, including the ability to successfully work with, and relate to, individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light physical activity. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
We are looking to find volunteers who are willing to give their time from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, we may be flexible if you have a conflicting schedule so please call or email if you are interested!
