PATH Dinner Shift (Monday-Sunday 5pm-7:30pm)

PATH Care Kits

Flexible Schedule | Santa Barbara, CA 93103

Care Kits are the primary engagement tool that PATH utilizes to build relationships and connect with individuals experiencing homelessness. This is a perfect opportunity to get a group together and get directly involved in making a difference! This opportunity would involve your group hosting a drive for hygiene items and non-perishable snacks and then assembling the donated items into Care Kits. PATH street outreach teams distribute the Care Kits to our neighbors experiencing homelessness all across California. Group Size: Open to Individual or Volunteer Groups. Location: Kits can be assembled on-site or off site at a location of your choice. Please note: Drop offs must be scheduled in advance and are only accepted during office hours from 8am-4pm. Budget: Costs vary depending on a volunteer’s capacity. Care Kits typically include the following: travel sized hygiene items, socks/underwear, and non-perishable snacks. PATH is accepting over $2 million worth of food donations each year. Every day our team goes out and rescues food donations from local grocery stores that would have otherwise gone to waste. Food Pick-Up Volunteer Shift: Capacity: 1-3 volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Accompany staff to pick-up food donations Must be able to lift 25+ lbs Position will require participant to often be on their feet, bendingfrequently, and carrying heavy weights. PATH is ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. We do this by building affordable housing and providing supportive services throughout California.

Description

On July 1, 2015, Casa Esperanza Homeless Shelter merged with PATH to become PATH Santa Barbara. We are very happy to be a part of the Santa Barbara community, working to rebuild lives and strengthen neighborhoods.

In Santa Barbara we provide a variety of services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness that include employment, outreach, housing navigation, interim housing, and rapid rehousing.
