Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our vision is to change the way we relate to and treat our companion animals throughout the Red Lake Nation.
The group incorporated and was granted 501 (c) (3) status as a nonprofit organization in February 2006. RLRR has a volunteer network in the Twin Cities that provides support. Our focus is on the following programs:
- Rescue of homeless dogs and cats
- Temporary sheltering of rescued animals
- Providing food and medical care
- Neutering and spaying
- Adoption into forever homes
- Humane education
RLRR rescues animals on the reservation and houses them at the shelter until they can be transported to the Twin Cities to be fostered until they can find a permanent home.
Free spay/neuter and vaccination clinics are held on the reservation with the help of other animal rescue organizations, as well. The hope is that fewer unwanted litters will be born and also that the residents will be educated about animal care and responsibility.
