Mission Statement

To advocate for economic and financial education in K-12 public and charter schools in the Washington metropolitan area; and promote programs that will help give future generations the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in an ever-changing economy.

Description

Based in Washington, DC, we are in existence to promote a critical need for economic knowledge and financial literacy for public school students and youth in general who reside in the District of Columbia and the Washington metropolitan area. In an economy that has become even more complex, it is imperative that today's youth have the necessary training needed to not only to make rational decisions, but to deal with a globally competitive workforce and complexities of the financial marketplace. We believe that including basic economic and financial concepts into the classroom will help students to understand how the economy works and gradually understand why it is important to make 'well-thought-out' choices. In teaching economics and finance, we not only stand to strengthen the knowledge of every individual, but strengthen the vitality of our communities, our economy, and society as a whole.
