Description

The River Valley Region of Church World Service services Ohio, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania. We work to organize communities in support of our national and international programs. Church World Service is best known for its CROP Hunger Walks. Currently the River Valley Region is responsible for 180 CROP Hunger Walks. As a region we support Church World Service nationally which was recognized as one of America's Most Efficient Charities. Church World Service has earned an A rating from the American Institute of Philanthropy and was named one of the Top 100 Highly Rated Charities by GiveSpot.com.

Founded in 1946, Church World Service is the relief, development, and refugee assistance ministry of 35 Protestant, Orthodox, and Anglican denominations in the United States. Working in partnership with indigenous organizations in more than 80 countries, CWS works worldwide to meet human needs and foster self-reliance for all whose way is hard. Within the United States, Church World Service assists communities in responding to disasters, resettles refugees, promotes fair national and international policies, provides educational resources, and offers opportunities to join a people-to-people network of local and global caring through participation in CROP Hunger Walks , the Blankets+ Program, and the CWS Kits Program.
