The SanDiego350 is seeking volunteers to join our growing fundraising team. The fundraising team is responsible for building capacity by raising revenue to support SD350’s programs and grow the climate movement by building lasting relationships with our donors, supporters, and volunteers. We work on a variety of different events such as the Annual Monthly Donor Drive, Fundraising Gala, and Giving Tuesday, as well as grant writing, relationship building, and gratitude campaigns for our donors at all levels. We have opportunities to work on event planning, social media, grants, writing, outreach & communications, and more! No experience is required. Whether you have years of experience, or are just excited to learn more about grassroots fundraising, we would love for you to join our team. Reach out to paloma@sandiego350.org.

Join the Transportation (TRANS) team! The TRANS team advocates for a fully connected, electrified regional transit system and pedestrian and bicycling infrastructure that are safe, convenient, and affordable, and support GHG emission reduction goals. The TRANS team campaigns to urge the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) to increase transit and active transportation options, with a focus on communities of concern. What We’re Working On: (Current Project) Education & Distribution of our Microtransit white paper (Current Project) Ongoing research on renewable energy, autonomous vehicles, etc. Advocating for the promotion of equity and reductions of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) of projects in the Regional Plan released by SANDAG to learn about the plan and opportunities for providing public input Educating the public and building coalitions in preparation for future transit ballot initiative. What You’ll Do: Attend SANDAG and MTS meetings and provide written or oral comments. Represent SanDiego350 at various coalition meetings. Meet with elected officials to advocate for policies. Educate SD350 members about policies and engage in transportation justice advocacy. Analyze, describe, and track relevant local, regional, and state policies. Advocate for a safe and connected active transportation (bicycling and pedestrian) network throughout the County. Regular Meetings: The Transportation Committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. No experience necessary, just a passion to learn! SD350 policy advocates work to advance just and equitable climate policies at the city, county, and state levels. Policies we advocate for include 100% renewable energy, ending fossil fuel extraction, mass transit, bicycle and pedestrian access, eliminating plastics, building electrification, and regenerative agriculture. Activities may include: Research policy topics Analyze policies Develop talking points Email or call elected officials Meet with elected officials and/or staff Testify at public meetings Write letters to the editor

Join the Renewable Energy (RE) Team! The RE team advocates for 100% clean energy throughout the region, supporting the expansion of community choice energy programs, and policies to support rooftop solar. RE team supports Climate Action Plan Committee (CAP) and renewable energy efforts that reflect a just transition. What We’re Working On: (Current Project) Opt-Up/Power 100 San Diego Community Power (SDCP) campaign to increase participation in SDCP 100% renewable energy program Ensuring that local jurisdictions adopt the goal of 100% clean energy by 2035 or sooner Advocating for all municipalities in San Diego County to join a Community Choice Energy (CCE) program Requesting that CCE and other renewable energy programs prioritize social equity, investment in local power generation, creation of green jobs, incorporation of strong labor provisions, and community engagement Opposing state legislation or regulations that would decrease the effectiveness of Community Choice Energy programs or disincentivize the adoption of rooftop solar What You’ll Do: Analyze, describe, and track relevant local, regional, and state policies. Advocate for local renewable energy projects at the city and county levels. Meet with elected officials, attend public workshops, and provide comments on policies related to renewable energy. Support community members in advocating for local renewable energy projects. Regular Meetings: The Renewable Energy Committee meets on the fourth Monday of every month from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
