Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all those struggling with and affected by brain disorders; people with a psychiatric condition, family members, mental health professionals, and concerned citizens.
NAMI Clark County is a primarily volunteer organization that provides education, support and advocacy for adults and children who live with serious mental illnesses and for the people who love and care for them. We served 1624 people through our programs in 2008 utilizing over 3049 volunteer hours. These services include support groups, education events, best-practice classes for families, a warm line, anti-stigma and respite events, bi-monthly newsletters, law enforcement crisis trainings and information resources. All classes and events, except one workshop, are offered free to participants because the population we serve often lives at or below the poverty levels. Our programs for family members are unique services and we are considered to be the representative voice for families in our community that have a loved one with a mental disorder. We currently participate in a Walk for mental illness each year and do other smaller fundraisers to support our work in the community.
