Mission Statement

The Athens County Supervised Visitation Center offers a place where children can visit with their non-residential parent in a safe, neutral environment. The Supervised Visitation Center ensures that parents are able to abide by no-contact orders, and protects domestic violence victims from further harm. Parents who are unable to get along during pickup/drop off of their children can use the Center to exchange their children, ensuring that children do not have to experience parental conflict during these times.

Description

The Supervised Visitation Center provides monitored, court-ordered visitation between children and their parent(s). All families using the Center are ordered to do so by the Court. The Supervised Visitation Center offers different levels of supervision. The visits are carried out in a safe, child-friendly atmosphere and typically last 1-2 hours. Arrival and departure times of the parents are staggered so that the parents have no contact with each other during visits or exchange of children. Monitors are needed to supervise visits and exchanges.
