Description

As the oldest and largest non-profit hospice in our area, Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice has been providing hospice care since 1983. Hospice is a special concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families when a terminal illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments improving the quality of a patient's last days by offering comfort and dignity. Hospice care neither prolongs life nor hastens death. Hospice staff and volunteers offer a specialized knowledge of end-of-life care, including pain and symptom management and deals with the emotional, social and spiritual impacts of the disease on the patient, their family and friends. Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice serves 25 counties in Kansas, including the Central and Southeast parts of the state.
