Mission Statement

The mission of the Grant County Animal Shelter is to provide a safe, clean environment for the abandoned, abused, stray, and otherwise unwanted dogs and cats from Grant County and other area shelters that come to us while they are waiting to find loving forever homes and to find a loving forever home for every animal that comes through our door.

Description

The Grant County Animal Shelter is a county-funded, county-operated shelter that takes in all dogs and cats that comes to its doorway. We are located in a rural community. We are an open-access facility, meaning that we must take in every animal that comes to our doorway. We are very proud of the fact that we have not euthanized healthy, adoptable animals since April 2008, but we are struggling right now and need volunteers in order to stay open and take care of all of the animals that we have.

I adopted a dog & a cat from here and have visited on several occassions. Like I read on http://eBooksforCharity.com, the new management, volunteers and involved community have turned the Grant County Animal Shelter into one of the best animal shelters in Kentucky.
