Mission Statement
The Braintree Community Youth Center (BCYC) strives to be a fun and safe environment for all young people who enter its doors. We seek to offer an open meeting and gathering place free of discrimination based upon race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation. We do not in any way encourage or condone violence and encourage alternative solutions and conclusions as a means to resolve problems that may occur. The Braintree Community Youth Center encourages the participation of youth in its growth allowing the Center to be a reflection of youth needs, wants and achievements. By this it is hoped that this process will encourage creativity and community participation of its members, encouraging the development of positive relationships with persons of all ages within the community or from surrounding towns.
Description
Our youth center is a safe, fun, affordable place for the kids to hang out, play, learn social interaction skills and grow friendships. The BCYC is currently open on Friday and Saturday nights. Braintree youth in grades 7-12 can hang out as a member or be a guest of a member. (Youth from other towns can also hang out as the guest of a member.) Youth can hang out, play pool, ping pong or other games, watch TV, play video games, and enjoy snacks. The Youth Center has tables, chairs, couches, and TVs.
