Mission Statement
Crisis Nursery exists to prevent child abuse and neglect by providing emergency shelter and support services to children at risk of abuse, homelessness or family disruption due to family stress and environmental factors. Since 1977 over 10,000 Arizona children from birth to age 10 have found safety, protection and nurturance at the Nursery.
Description
Regardless of the reason for placement, the total needs of each child are assessed and met. Each child receives nutritious meals, clothing and supervision in a nurturing environment created by our trained care-giving staff and volunteers. Our multi-disciplinary team provides comprehensive health assessments and immunizations as well as social, psychological, speech and educational services individualized for every child. Parents receive crisis intervention and counseling services and are linked with other community-based agencies. Transitional and follow-up services are provided to ensure that the children remain safe and will receive the services they need after they leave the Nursery. We rely upon the generosity of individuals and corporations to keep our doors open and help us continue to "stop the hurt" one child and one family at a time.
