Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy, Inc.
SMART has a beautiful, 23 acre equestrian facility. It's the perfect home for SMART---but it needs constant tender loving care. Lots to mow, repair, fix up, and power wash. Whatever kind of work you like to do---we have a spot for you, whether it is construction work, gardening, pasture & fence maintenance, basic home maintenance and repair work, etc. We would love to have you join our SMART Family of awesome volunteers!

Mission Statement:
Enriching the lives of people with special needs through therapeutic horse-related programs.
Tagline:
"Empowering lives through the healing power of horses."
Horses are Empowering! At SMART, we strive to improve the quality of the lives of our SMART Riders and their families through therapeutic horseback riding, carriage driving and equine assisted activities. Through respectful partnerships with our horses, we create an environment that promotes a life of inclusion, respect, growth and independence.
At SMART, horseback riding and carriage driving lessons are provided on a weekly basis to both children and adults with a wide range of special needs (physical, mental, cognitive and/or emotional.) The students learn to groom and care for their horses as well as tack up and ride or drive their horses. This all encompassing horsemanship program gives each individual the opportunity to exercise their bodies, minds and spirits through therapeutic equine assisted activities. SMART is a Premier Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Int'l and a partner agency of the United Way of Manatee County. SMART is an ALL administered volunteer organization and has been providing services to the community for 27 years!
We'll work with your schedule.
