About Sisterhood Of Unity & Love

Location:

Mission Statement

To provide preventative treatment programs and services to adolescent females that leverage in creative arts and personal development in order to eradicate involvment in juvenile delinquency.

Description

With the desperate need of guidance for our young sistas, the idea of a place where young girls could go and receive the same support that SOUL provides was brought to the drawing board. SOUL's former president and co-founder was persistant in providing that service for adolescent females. SOUL started to mentor at juvenile facilities, schools and non profit organizations, but that still wasn't enough, SOUL needed to do more. So, after 2 years of planning and 2 years of practice (4 years of experience) SOUL, Inc became an official non profit organization in January 2011. Though SOUL, Inc is a seperate entity from the campus organization, they are still closely in partnership.

Vision

We want to change the aperture of young girls of color so that they can see opportunities beyond their environment. We need to provide them with the tools to overcome their obstacles and create sustainable solutions. We have to motivate them to tap into their soul to reveal and be their best selves. We are going to make a difference in the lives of every girl we encounter!
