The Caseworkers and Budget Counselors build the groundwork for our client's financial success. Each casework volunteer initiates as an Apprentice Caseworker and with training, mentoring, feedback, and support, transition through each step of the caseworker tenure at their own pace.

Volunteers can build cases to become certified as a Level IV Caseworker; the highest level of casework at the Society. Because this position is on a tenure track, it allows volunteers to build research, communication, negotiation, counseling, budgeting, and detail orientation skills at each level. These are definite resume builder and confidence booster skills.

Are you interested in assisting sailors and marines uphold their military mission? If so, this position is a rewarding option. There is no requirement for prior military experience! NMCRS will reimburse mileage and reasonably priced child care for your time in the office. Office is located on a Navy base so base access is required.

The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.

Description

Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private non-profit charitable organization. It is sponsored by the Department of the Navy and operates nearly 250 offices ashore and afloat at Navy and Marine Corps bases throughout the world. The Society was incorporated in the District of Columbia and has its headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. It is managed by a Board of Directors whose members are active duty or retired members of the Naval Services, or spouses of active duty or retired members of the Naval Services.
