Join a team to search for stoneflies in Rouge streams. Pre-registration required. Volunteers meet at a central location (Plymouth Cultural Center 525 Farmer St., Plymouth MI) and are assigned to a team that travels to two sites throughout the watershed. Under the direction of a team leader, volunteers search for stoneflies in sample trays. Children must be 8 or older and be accompanied by a participating adult; groups of up to four. Data collected is used to track the health of the watershed.

Description
Friends of the Rouge is an environmental non-profit organization that has been promoting stewardship of the Rouge River watershed for over 15 years. We run a large environmental education program for schools within the Rouge watershed. We also coordinate a variety of projects for volunteers, adult and youth, individuals and groups. These activities include monitoring environmental quality, neighborhood-based environmental education and pollution prevention, stream cleanups and many other environmental restoration/preservation activities.
