GSSSI offers three healthy living workshops to the community of Springfield that includes: 1) Healthy Eating for Successful Living, 2) My life, My health, Chronic Disease Self- Management, 3) A Matter of Balance-managing concerns about falls.
Requirements:
Workshop training/certification lasts between 2 half days to 4 full days depending on the workshop. Workshops run between 6-8 weeks, meeting once a week, usually 2 hours. It is an excellent learning experience to educate oneself in a healthy lifestyle as well as participate in community involvement.
Must be interested in working with older adults, able to perform and explain range of motion and low level exercises, and posess good communication and interpersonal skills.
