Team Up to Deliver Meals to Homebound Seniors

Help frail or homebound seniors stay independent by delivering hot, nutritious meals made fresh each day. Serve as little as 2-5 hours a month, or more it’s up to you. Meals are delivered weekdays at 10:30 a.m. out of the Burnham Brook Community Center in Battle Creek. Delivery takes about 2 to 2.5 hours.

Caring and friendly volunteer drivers (drives the route) and hoppers (takes the meal to the door and provides a brief check of the person's well-being) in the Battle Creek area. Volunteer with your spouse, family member, neighbor, or friend, or meet someone new by being matched with another volunteer.

Volunteers enjoy free supplemental accident, excess auto liability and personal liability insurance while volunteering, annual volunteer event, and free membership in Rx Optical Vision Advantage Program.

Senior Services of Southwest Michigan offers a full selection of programs and service developed with today's older adult in mind. over 20 programs that assist people to support their independence and help them stay living at home. Services include Meals on Wheels, Care Navigator, Information and Assistance, Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program, Home Repair, MI Choice Waiver, Food for All, Friendship Center Meal Sites, Volunteers 4 Seniors, and Behavioral Health and Wellness. We host RSVP - Your Invitation to Volunteer, and the Senior Companion and Foster Grandparent national service programs to connect older adults to volunteering and to support them in their service. Our 1858 Catering offers casual to sophisticated dining with a purpose, as all profits support our Meals on Wheels and Friendship Center Meal Sites.
