Finance and Budgeting Enthusiasts! Help Older Adults Manage Their Money

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Kenneth Young Center

You can make a huge difference in an Older Adult's life by helping them with simple money management tasks. Depending on your talents, you may be helping a client with balancing a checkbook; for those with vision impairment, you may be reading their monthly bills aloud. These tasks are very important to someone trying to maintain their independence and their sense of self-worth. Your presence and enthusiasm in keeping an older adult involved in managing their own financial affairs is a critical element in helping them remain in their own homes.

Volunteers must be available to serve during normal business hours, must be willing to enter into a client's home, and must be able to provide their own transportation to client's home. This opportunity asks a volunteer to make a commitment to serve for at least 9 months and be willing to offer at least four to ten hours per month. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and have experience in finance, accounting and/or business.
